HOW DO I CHANGE MY PS3 MAC ADDRESS GT ACADEMY INSTALL
I was able to change from 4.84.1 to 3.55.4 to 4.84.1 back an forth from XMB without any reformatting but as soon as i do SAFETY/RECOVERY MODE to do Restore File System it has to reformatt after that downgrader wont install from XMB.
HOW DO I CHANGE MY PS3 MAC ADDRESS GT ACADEMY UPDATE
Same thing downgrader will only update via SAFETY/RECOVERY MODE.Īfter successfully testing Chaos Air Bringer on cex i upgraded to 4.84.1 REX.īefore proceeding with Restore File System I thought try to install downgrader. Process worked same way on cex firmware aswell. I was curious now, can this process be done in cex so converted from dex to cex and repeated process using Rebug firmware. You think he give up leave it at that but no. Then repeated Restore File System a second time. My OCD or some other reason I went back into SAFETY/RECOVERY MODE to do Restore File System to my surprise i got a message telling me I need to rebuild hardisk database and asking me to format because a error occurred. Continued and completed process then upgraded back to Rebug 4.82.1 D-REX. However when downgrading to 3.55 it wouldn't install update via XMB but installed it via SAFETY/RECOVERY MODE once it completed install I got a message telling me I need to rebuild hardisk database and asking me to format because a error occurred. *This appears to have worked my mac address is now showing the new one.* Process: -downgrade to 3.55 -3.55 oos -Chaos Air Bringer pkg
HOW DO I CHANGE MY PS3 MAC ADDRESS GT ACADEMY HOW TO
I came across a old video on you tube how to permanently change mac address dex. Wouldn't the mac address be a possible target to flag the system so why not change this aswell?ĭidn't find much helpful info on mac address. So got to thinking about the PS3 ids, system flagged, If/what/when/why/how ect. First time maybe a year second time six months third time about two months. First two times was modding online a bit ok a lot. The issue might be when you have a DHCP wired router, then a wireless hanging off it.Įither way, switches are getting pretty self managed these days, so they should all be smart enough to sort them selves out.īut if you getting the same IP from a DHCP server, that's enough proof their that they are using the same mac address.Īs you lease has unlikely to have expired, it's clearly treating them the same.I recently got banned again third time in two years. Yes your right, and you router obviously treats the wirless and cable the same. The only way it could do this is by having the same mac for both. It always assigns the DMZ and a the same static address everytime, whether wired or wireless. Maybe the PS3 turns off one port when another is selected in the settings. I use wireless for Resistance 2, don't know why it stopped working for wired, but it did.
I am wired and wireless on the same router. This may be true for some routers but not for my DGL-4300. I had thought that with NIC manufacters that each network device has to have its own unique MAC address (since it is like its fingerprint)? And can't you use both of them at the same time by streaming something over the PS3 (through TVeristy, etc.) through the internet on the wired connection while viewing it on the PSP remotely using the wireless connection? I think it's only one, and this is not as dumb as it sounds, because I think they built it so that you can't activate both interfaces at once.

Good catch, I completely forgot about the bluetooth inside the machine! 1 for wired, 1 for wireless and one for bluetooth. If you want to get all technical it has 3 mac addresses. Just because you get the same IP address doesn't mean that it only has one MAC address. The DHCP server on my router is set to allocate the IP address manually for my PS3 and whether I'm in Linux or the GameOS, I get the same IP address. My PS3 had a wired connection for Linux and a wireless connection for the GameOS.
